The Howrah Bowls Club is situated on the eastern shore of Hobart, the capital of Australia's island state, Tasmania.

The Club was officially opened in February 1988 and is situated at the Howrah Recreation Centre in a superb setting. It has a modern consitution with equal rights for both men and ladies. This is reflected in the open and friendly atmosphere of the Club.

The Howrah Bowls Club has one grass green and one indoor synthetic green. This allows bowls to be played all the year round.

Pennant competitions and Club championships are played during the spring/summer period with social competitions being played during the autumn/winter months. Social bowls are an important feature of the Club all year round with both men and ladies participating.

The Howrah Bowls Club also runs the successful Wilson Homes Howrah Twilight Bowls program during the spring and summer months

The view to Mt Wellington from Howrah's greens

“When you lose, say little.
When you win, say less.”
