Well done to the team of Joan Stirling & Lorna Heyward who made it through to the semi-finals of the Southern "Champion of Champions" tournamnet.

::Australia Day triples: 30-01-2012::

Congratulations to the team of Brian Dodge, Paula Hadley & Peter Jenkins who won the 2012 Australia Day triples event. A big thanks to Ros Jones, Joy Houston, Lyn Young and Des Carpenter from the Ladies and Men's match commitees as well as Jenny Lourey for organising the fantastic afternoon tea. Thanks also go to Boags for sponsoring the day and supplying prizes.

::florence nichols: 10-01-2012::

Congratulations to Joy Quilliam and Len Keam who won the 2012 Florence Nichols Mixed Pairs trophy on Saturday. Runners-up were Kaye and Graeme Kearney.

::subway autumn triples winners: 23-05-2011::

The 2011 Subway Shoreline Autum Triples concluded on the weekend, with the team of Scott Adams, David Dimsey & Arthur Kregor taking top place this year. It was another successful competition this year with 24 teams taking part.

::howrah div. 4 - state champs: 20-04-2011::

Howrah's Mens Division 4 team were crowned State Champions on Sunday after a sucessful trip North for the State Pennant Finals. Played at the Invermay Bowls Club, Howrah defeated both their northern & north westerern opponents. In their morning game they had a comprehensive win over the north's Bridport Bowls Club; 94-55. This was followed in the afternoon with a strong win over the north west's Burnie Bowls Club; 79-71.

::pennant grand finals: 12-04-2011::

Well done to Howrah's Mens Division 2 Reserve & Division 4 teams who played off in the 2010/11 Pennant Grand Finals on the weekend. 2 Reserve had a tough fight against Dover who had led the division all season. The final came down to the last bowl of the day with Howrah missing out by just 2 shots. It was better news for Division 4 with a strong 14 shot win over divisional heavyweights Beltana and will now head to Launceston this weekend to represent the South in the State Division 4 Finals.

::winter fours 2010 wrap: 06-09-2010::

The 2010 Howrah Winter Handicap Fours came to a close on Saturday when unfortunately the Grand Final games were washed out due to the consistent rain all day. With the games washed out the top four placings and the group winners were determined by where each of the teams playing in the playoff games finished on the ladder at the end of round 15. This resulted in Team A who finished in second place being crowned the 2010 Winter Handicap Fours champions. The placings were a follows;

::howrah teams promoted: 18-07-2010::

Great news in the last couple of weeks for the Howrah Bowls Club with two of our men's Pennant teams promoted to higher divisions. Our Southern & State Pennant winning 4 Reserve team has been promoted to Division 4 and 1 of our 2 Division 5 teams have been moved up to 4 Reserve.

Also in the Men's Midweek Pennant competiton Howrah now has teams in all four divions, 1,2,3 & 4 after Grand Final wins in Divisions 2 & 4.

::autumn triples conclude: 19-05-2010::

The Alison Rithchie Autumn Triples came to a close last Saturday. It was another successful event with the competition this year comprising 24 teams. A big thanks goes to the members who helped run the competition in particular Charles Thomas, Peter Wettenhall & Graeme Morrisby and to all the competitors.

Well done to Howrah's Division 4 Reserve men's team who were crowned State Champions on the weekend. Playing at Ulverstone on the North West coast they had tight wins over the Northern Club Exeter and North West Club Smithton.

Congratulations Boys!!!

A big thanks also to the Ulverstone Bowls Club for looking after the players and supporters so well.

Good luck to Howrah's 4 Reserve team who play off in the Bowls Tasmania State Pennant Finals this weekend at Ulverstone on the North West Coast. Good Luck Boys!

::autumn 3s & winter 4s pushed back: 01-04-2010::

Due to Howrah's Division 4 Reserve team playing in the State Pennant Finals on the North West Coast on the 17th of April, the start date for the Autumn Triples has been pushed back a week and will now start on the 24th of April. This in turn will move the start date for the Winter Fours back from the 15th of May to the 22nd of May.

Entries for the Winter Fours is now open. See the Club's noticeboard for details and the entry form.

::one glorious week: 28-03-2010::

What a fantastic end to the 2009-10 Pennant season it has been for the Howrah Bowls Club. Yesterday our Men's 4 Reserve side had an emphatic victory over Kingborough, winning 3 rinks to 1. On Wednesday in the Midweek Pennant competition our Division 2 side and Howrah (1) in Division 4 both brought home Grand Final victories against Beltana and Brighton respectivley. Both sides won 3 rinks to 1. A big congratulation also goes to the other sides that competed in finals this season, the Division 2 ladies Howrah White side made it to the preliminary final and in Saturday pennant Divisions 3 and Mixed B played in semi-finals.

::twilight bowls finals: 22-03-2010::

Howrah Twilight Bowl's Summer Roster came to a close last Wednesday with finals night. Championship deciders were played of between the top two teams in each division. The Summer 2010 Champions are:

The Howrah Bowls Club held their annual Austalia Day Triples tournament today. Even though the weather turned nasty and only one of the two 10 end games were played, fun was had by all who participated. Congatulations to the team of:

Howrah Bowls Club's annual mixed pairs event the Florence Nichols Trophy was held on January 2 and was again well supported by Club members with 24 teams competing. The top three were:

Finals Night results

::2009-10 pennant season starts: 08-10-2009::

The new 2009-10 Bowls Tasmania South season kicks off over the next week. Men's Pennant starts this Saturday, Howrah this year will be fielding two new teams in the competition, a second Division 5 team and teams in both the open and restricted Mixed rosters. Men's Midweek Pennant starts next Wednesday with Ladies Pennant commencing the following day on Thursday. Good luck to all teams for coming season.

::howrah celebrates new season: 08-10-2009::

The Howrah Bowls Club recently celebrated the opening of the new bowls season with their Open Day and Fred & Eva Clifford Trophy game. The Club's Patroness Nora Reid and Patron Harold Huxley were there to roll the first jack and bowl of the 2009-10 season.
